Hold onto your boarding passes guys, the zesty orange airline we all lowkey loved is making a comeback! That’s right, Mango Airlines is gearing up to take off once again after four long, grounded years. If you’re anything like me, Mango wasn’t just an airline, it was budget-friendly bliss with personality. I still remember the snack boxes, those cheeky announcements, and flying high without breaking the bank.
And now? It looks like Mango might just be ready to paint the skies orange again and yes, there’s even a chance to reclaim those dusty old flight vouchers you thought were gone forever. Here’s everything you need to know.
So, What’s the Buzz About Mango’s Comeback?
After a long stint in financial rescue (cue the sad violin), Mango has announced they’re in the final stages of sealing a deal with a new investor. If it all goes smoothly, we could be seeing those bright orange birds back in the sky and trust me, I’ll be first in line for a window seat.
Still Have an Old Ticket or Voucher? Good News!
If you were one of the hopeful travellers who had a ticket booked before the airline went under, don’t panic. Mango’s giving you a chance to get something back.
Here’s how it works:
Head to the Mango website: www.flymango.com
Fill out the “Mango Flight Ticket Verification Form”
You’ll need either:
Your original booking/PNR number
OR your voucher number (if it was already issued)
You’ve got from June to 1 September 2025 to claim it and don’t leave it till the last minute like your holiday packing, okay?
IMPORTANT: If you already got a refund through your bank or travel agent, you unfortunately won’t be eligible.
If The Deal Falls Through…
Okay, I hate to be the one to say it, but just in case the investor deal doesn’t fly, your ticket will become a “creditor claim.” That means you’ll receive a partial payout (basically a travel version of store credit… but less exciting).
Why This Matters (Especially to Budget Travellers Like Me)
Mango was more than a budget airline, it was a lifeline for South Africans looking to explore without maxing out a credit card. Whether it was quick family getaways, solo trips, or couple escapes, Mango made travel more accessible.
If they return (🤞), we’re looking at more competition, better prices, and maybe, just maybe, a return to fuss-free flying with flair.
Final Boarding Call
I’ll be watching this space like a hawk, Mango, if you’re reading this, I missed you. Like really missed you. And I can’t wait to book my next trip!
So mama, papa, solo explorer or squad traveller, dust off those unused vouchers, fill in that form and start dreaming of take-off again.
Catch you in the skies 🍊
Love,
Ash
